I was born in Oklahoma in 1955. I learned about photographic composition by absorbing every issue of National Geographic and Life magazines, and about the technical aspects of photography from my parents, both, avid photographers.
After getting my Bachelor of Fine Arts Film/Video/Photography degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1982, I moved to Monterey, CA, where I spent many years as a professional color printer, shooting wedding videos and photos as a side business.
Being an avid musician, Iíve shot hundreds of hours of video and thousands of photos of local bands, many taken at the Three Spirits Art Gallery in nearby Sand City, at weekly events loosely called, ďSand JamsĒ.
Before getting my first computer in 2002, I shot mostly 35mm film and Super VHS video, dabbling at times with both medium format and 4x5 film cameras. In 2003 I got my first digital camera and discovered the joys of digital editing using Photoshop.
As Iíve gotten older, Iíve become interested in documenting the beauty of the Monterey Peninsula and itís surrounding areas, leading to daily walks through the many historic gardens in downtown Monterey, as well as the colorful wharf and harbor.
Also, my recent career as a chauffeur for a local transportation company has given me many opportunities to photograph the area while showing it to the folks who come here to experience the beauty of Californiaís central coast.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my web page. I hope my images will convey some of the beauty Iíve been privileged to enjoy while living in Monterey for the past 30+ years.
